Biography

Lora Banks, PCC, CPCC

I've done many things is my past professional life. By far, the most exciting was the ten years I spent in investment banking as a stock trader in both New York and San Francisco. The most fun was running a sports marketing company in Los Angeles, representing professional athletes, doing consumer promotions between Fortune 500 companies and the professional sports leagues and managing sponsored events.


And the most rewarding is right now. I am founder of The Coach Approach, a WHOLE life coaching company. I am a professional, certified coach and I help practical, busy people define and achieve their unique definition of success across the totality of their lives - work, family, health, relationships and so on.


I didn't just hang out a shingle and call myself a coach when I left Wall Street in 2003. I have completed a rigorous academic and training program including over 250 course hours, being supervised by master certified coaches, and successfully passing both a written exam and and in person peer review of my coaching skills. I have completed more than 1000 hours of coaching and have been recommended by master certified coaches to the International Coach Federation (ICF). I hold the ICF designation of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) along with the Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) from The Coaches Training Institute.


Besides that, I have studied coaching at John F. Kennedy University, and received a Certificate in Leadership from the Co-Active Space International Leadership Training Program. I have another 100 hours of course work in Organization, Relationship and Systems Coaching from The Center for Right Relationship. And one more credential, Certified NLP Practitioner.


A long time ago, I taught several semesters of Business Communications at the Haas Graduate School of Business at U.C. Berkeley (my alma mater) and more recently taught coaching and leadership skills at San Jose State University. My most memorable training was delivered on coaching and leadership skills to industry leaders in Mumbai, India.
